We Moms will never settle for anything unless it’s our passion. This interview series #MeetThePassionateMoms is all about the stories of real moms who share their motherhood journey and still how they consistently focus on chasing their dreams.
We are so excited to feature “Tyane Milem”, for this month’s Meet The Passionate Moms Interview Series. She is a writer, contributing author, and a mother of four boys who is behind the blog ” BoyMom Blessed”. We personally thank her for taking the time to share her Mompreneur journey with us. She is an inspiring woman who loves to help work at home moms (WAHM) to find the right balance at home amongst the day-to-day chaos through her blog. We hope you enjoy getting to know her journey as much as we have. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back and be inspired.
1. Let’s get to know you and your family.
I was born in California, raised and currently live in Indiana. I became a mom for the first time at the age of 20. Before becoming a work-at-home mom, I was an insurance agent. With having four boys who got sick at the different time, my attendance took a beating in the workforce. I sacrificed my career to become a stay-at-home mom, which lasted for two weeks. Found my current job on an online job board and have worked from home for almost four years. My four boys are 11, 9, 6, and 4. I am married to my college sweetheart…together for seven years and married for five. I also am a fur-mom to three beagles.
2. What’s your passion and have you initiated the step towards following your dreams? What was it?
Writing is my therapy and escape. I have blogged off and on for four years but picked it up seriously last summer to help work at home moms balance life at home.
3. What do you do outside of blogging?
I work at home as an administrative assistant for a hot tub company. I also recently became an Ambassador for Plexus.
4. What do you like to do on your “Me Time”?
I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, writing, and spending time outdoors.
5. Being a Mom how do you plan a schedule for blogging?
I write and create my images on Mondays to publish on Tuesdays. I spend about 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening each day to share my posts and other mom blog posts on social media. On the weekends, I plan my editorial calendar and do any extra writing or freebie creations while my husband is home.
6. How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging?
My audience keeps growing. There are other mothers out there who work from home who want to know how I stay sane, so I share what I do to help them.
7. Do you want to thank anyone?
My husband. He supports my writing and blogging journey. He loves reading what I share on it, too. I also want to thank my friends at Collective Voice Magazine for helping me find my niche in writing and keep it going, as well.
8. What is the one question you wish someone would ask you but never does?
How do you do it all and never lose your cool? Or…What would you do if you had a girl in the mix?
9. Being a Mom, how do you love to raise your kid and with what qualities?
I love raising my kids to be responsible and respectful. They are super helpful around the house and well-behaved while we are in public. The number of compliments I get from people is astonishing. It reminds me that I’m doing something right.
10. What’s the biggest change and challenge you faced in your life since you started blogging as a Mother?
Being consistent. I try to keep up the best I can, even if I have to stay up late to finish my work.
11. What’s your Blog niche and what inspired you to start blogging?
I tried different niches throughout the last four years but I wanted something different and meaningful to me. I help work-at-home moms learn to find the right balance at home amongst the day-to-day chaos.
12. What’s your blogging goals?
Short term: Build my audience of Moms who work from home
Long term: Monetize before my youngest starts school, so I don’t have to return to the corporate world.
13. Do you accept guest posts?
I’m not currently, but will be starting this fall.
14. Words for other Aspiring Moms:
Go for it! You have a story, and someone out there wants to hear it.
15. Anything else you’d like to share with us?
Motherhood is quite a journey. It’s hard, easy, mind boggling and everything in between. Before you know it, they will grow up fast. Cherish every moment you can. You will miss those days, someday.
